SOFA BED & BEDDING

The living room sofa converts into a queen-size bed. Instructions for opening it are posted on the wall. Please put the mattress cover on before adding the sheets. The mattress cover, sheets, duvet and pillows are stored in the bedroom closet.

 

🌡 HEATING & COOLING

The Nest thermostat controls the wall heaters in the living room and bedroom and is set to a range of 50–78°F.

For the heating system to work properly, the rectangular wall heater controls underneath must remain set to AUTO and turned all the way up. Please leave these settings as they are and use the Nest thermostat to adjust the temperature.

To change the heat, simply turn the outer dial on the Nest. If you’d like the temperature set higher than 78°F, message me and I can adjust it remotely.

If the heat doesn’t seem to be working, first check that the wall heater is set to AUTO and turned all the way up, then make sure the Nest is set to your desired temperature. If you’re still having trouble, send me a message and I’ll be happy to help.

When heading out for the day, skiing or exploring Mammoth, please turn the heat down or off. There’s no need to keep the condo fully heated while it’s unoccupied, and it helps us conserve energy.

Like most homes and condos in Mammoth, there is no A/C because it is rarely needed in our mountain climate. Ceiling fans are provided in both the living room and bedroom. During unusually warm weather, open the windows in the evening to let in the cool mountain air, then close the windows and blinds in the morning to help keep the condo cool.

The bedroom ceiling fan and light are operated using the remote control located on the nightstand. For the remote to work properly, please leave the wall switch in the ON position.

Please return the remote to the nightstand when you’re finished so it’s easy for the next guest to find.

 

🔥 FIREPLACE & FIREWOOD

Firewood is provided and stored in the firewood storage area in the hallway. When gathering wood, please take a combination of smaller kindling and larger logs.

To start a fire:

• Open the damper by pushing the handle all the way in.
• Warm the flue first to establish a proper draft. Use 1–2 small pieces from the fire-starter bundle with some shredded newspaper. Please avoid glossy or colored paper.
• Leave the fireplace door slightly ajar for approximately 30–45 minutes while the fire gets established.
• Build the fire gradually, starting with smaller pieces of wood before adding larger logs.
• Once the fire is burning well, adjust the airflow by pulling the damper lever approximately halfway out.

 

📺 TV & STREAMING

The condo has Smart TVs in both the living room and bedroom, with cable, Netflix and several other streaming services provided.

The living room TV can be operated using the Samsung remote for regular cable service.

An Amazon Fire TV Stick is also available for streaming apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu and YouTube. To access the Fire TV Stick, press the SOURCE/Input button on the Samsung remote and select HDMI 1. Then use the Fire TV remote to navigate the streaming apps.

Guests sometimes sign into their own streaming accounts and may inadvertently log us out of ours. If one of our provided services has been logged out, just send me a message and I’ll be happy to provide the login information.

 

🚿 HOT WATER

Our condo is equipped with the largest-capacity water heater permitted for the unit. Like most condos, however, the hot-water supply is not unlimited. Long showers or several showers taken back-to-back may temporarily use up the available hot water.

If this happens, there’s nothing wrong with the water heater — simply give the tank some time to reheat. To make sure everyone in your group has plenty of hot water, we recommend keeping showers to a reasonable length, especially when showering one after another.

 

⚡ HAIR DRYER & BATHROOM FAN

Running the hair dryer and bathroom fan at the same time may occasionally trip the breaker. If this happens, turn both off and reset the tripped breaker in the electrical panel located in the bedroom closet. Once reset, everything should return to normal.

 

🍳 PANTRY & KITCHEN

Feel free to help yourself to any staple items and basic pantry supplies provided in the kitchen. Pots are stored in the cabinet under the countertop, and pans are in the drawer beneath the oven.

 

🗑️ TRASH DISPOSAL

The dumpsters are located in the parking lot, on the other side of the clubhouse fence. Please refer to the complex map for their exact location.

The dumpsters have carabiner-style latches to keep bears out. Please make sure the lids are securely closed and re-latch them after use. Never leave trash or food outside the dumpsters, as bears are very active in Mammoth.

🏊 RECREATION & CLUBHOUSE

The recreation building is open from 10 AM–10 PM and includes a seasonal summer pool, three hot tubs, sauna, fire pit, ping pong, foosball, pool table, large TV and two BBQ grills.

 

🧺 LAUNDRY

The community laundry room is located inside the clubhouse. Washers and dryers are app-operated. Laundry detergent is not provided.
